Kifisias

This is one of the richer suburbs of Athens

It is at the end of one of the major roads in Athens called Kifisias that goes straight to Athens centre through many suburbs, this road is loaded with shops and entertainment of all kinds and is one of the famous roads of Athens

It has shops and facilities for local residents as well as tourists like: -

Clubs, international restraints and tavernas, Bowling and cinema complex

There are many Brand Name shops, similar to Rodeo Drive at the same time as having all the village small speciality shops like bedding, paint, haberdashers as well as having a few antique shops

In fact, it is like an open air mall in the middle of a village

It has Kefalari Park that has manicured gardens and one full time café with tables that rest under the trees, when you are sitting there you can not hear the traffic, it is popular with old and young alike

The roads are not straight and there are many small shops to find in interesting places

Parking is a nightmare

The village it was is still seen today in many of the older houses, with gardens, the small roads and the odd corner shops

It has many of the top class estate venues around the out lying area

It is accessible by Metro, the ISAP (ΙΣΑΠ) which is the original metro of Athens before the new lines were made for the Olympics in 2004

This line goes from Peiraos, the port to Kifisias via Omonia square

Kifisias is about 4 degrees cooler than Glyfada and often has a cooling wind on the hottest days from the Penteli Mountain, see Mount Penteli for more details of this exclusive area
