What can I mean by other except for what you never thought of

Fairs are one thing, small village fairs on the village or church name day, fairs to celebrate some to the major days, or just fairs that are there for some special reason you never find out about but probably it is because it is a tourist attraction at the time of year

These fairs consist of stalls, maybe a game or too, definitely lots of natural produce for sale and kids toys, jewellery and if they have been able to keep out the immigrant hawkers, it will be very Greek clothes

Carnivals, these are two sorts, the stable ones that start when the weather is fine and close when the weather is bad, they are mainly rides and games with food stalls, you know the sort, in most countries they are travelling carnivals with pop corn and sugar canes

Circus, these are more and more just human, but their are still some animal ones that come from India and the middle east, if it is just human then the big top is with some fantastic aerial feats and acrobats, if it is animal, well you will never get to see tigers that close again (I do not condone animal cruelty), often these travelling ones will have a freak show, they are styled on the middle ages and they do exist, but not in Athens

They have had the Chinese Circus and The Russian ones here in Athens before they go on tour to major spots in Greece

We have a couple of water parks, but I have not found one in Athens, the usual with slides and waves

One can find shadow puppet shows in Greek of course on the streets, especially round busy platieas, plaka and other open areas

You always have markets in each area, village and town, once a week in the same place, here you can get food, veg, fish, household items, cleaning items, fruit, clothes, shoes, material

The vegetables are supposed to come directly from the farms, it starts of expensive in the morning but by 1pm in the afternoon the last of it is going for cut prices

They have fish that is supposed to be fresh, it is on ice and came in an iced truck, so I cannot guarantee it

The clothes are not fashion, they are light throwaway fashion, house clothes, undergarments, work stuff, same with the shoes, but you never know what you will find

Household items are the kitchen and cheaper items, you may find some more upmarket stuff in the gift areas, things for peoples name day, crystal vases, bowls or things

There is a jewellery stand somewhere, lots of evil eyes for luck and protection

The cleaning stuff is not that much cheaper than the supermarkets, but it sells

Kids toys, the odd speciality stand of honey or drink

But these places come alive at Easter, Christmas and of course name days celebrations or special holiday preparations requirements for the next days festivities

You will find it hard to find a clairvoyant, a palmist or any alternative occupations, they do have real gypsies, but they just beg

I have seen some sponsored entertainment in Syntagma Square and a few other large platieas, same with extravagant promotions from companies, but there are always people standing in the street giving things away
