We make them, we import them, we design them and we sell them
Not abroad, mainly to Greeks and tourists
But I am amazed that Greeks do not export more
They have repair and upgrade facilities on most street corners
You may want leather soles which are good for the air circulation but the grip of rubber, for a very small fee you can have the shoes upgraded whilst you wait
Although they have many of the shoes on display as the ones of the season’s fashion, they also have Stock shops that hold different seasons fashions
If you are here for a week or more, they can make you shoes to the fashion you want, show them a picture and they can recreate it for you.

Natural products like leather are highly regarded and quite plentiful, Greece is a large trading country so leather is widespread
Cotton and linen is a natural product here and many styles, especially for summer require the ability for feet to breath
Man made is available and produced here but it is not extremely cheap unless it is imported in bulk
Do not worry, the heals are not made of wood, that would be too expensive as wood is a luxury product here
If you are looking for boots, forget Italy, Greece is the place, shop after shop, but truthfully only in every shop from September to March for the rain proof ones
There are summer boots, these are fashion and with ingenious air ways to keep you cool rather than war

You are going to need sturdy grip, strong and comfortable shoes to walk the streets here
Trainers are good, but they can get hot and are not always good for taking off to try on shoes
Sandals are good for the beach, plastic ones that you can wear in the water may help you on rocky and stony shores
You can get diving foot mittens, these are used with flippers to facilitate grip and prevent chaffing through long use, they are also fantastic when you want to walk or play in the shallows as they really grip and protect
